Never noticed that before, probably because I rarely get that close to an enemy with a BH, and I usually use a fully zoomed out field of view. It could be that your BH is targeting more dangerous enemies that are off this screen view.

Yep I get the same thing. I disengage step back and shoot. the shorties are a pain.
