The perfect musical accompaniment for what's shaping up to be another cursed year.

Despite hopes of shedding our beleaguered 2020 coils, to usher in a year of renewed hopes and brighter days, it looks like 2021 might just be 2020 ver2.0. It's obviously too early to snuff it just yet, but I was ignorantly hopeful for at least a slow & steady return to normalcy.

I have only posted stuff previously in the forums regarding math crunching, ANB progress or strategy. But I thought I'd link a pretty dope newish song from a talented and well circulated but fairly niche band, that I feel perfectly encapsulates the global malaise in which we find ourselves. The genre is electronic/dark wave/synth/pop/goth, with very catchy old school 80's-90's hooks, and definitely not in my normal Indie Rock, Prog, metal or old school hip hop circles, that I normally gravitate to.

When I first heard them 4 or 5 years ago, I considered Night Club a guilty pleasure, but I appreciate them publicly now lol. Their music is very catchy and often upbeat, while being dark, kinky and morose at the same time. Then it grows on you like a symbiotic parasite. I found this recent release to be especially haunting, and it has stuck with me rather poignantly. It's my official anthem for the awkward, disillusioned transition into 2021, until further notice.

Give it a shot if you're bored, or just feel like capturing that authentic melancholic 2021 feeling, and putting it to musical form. Like all this band's music, it's relatively short and to the point. I hope you're all having a great day or evening, and may this new year prove us all wrong with its benevolence
