Quest items retained on other characters when completing an account wide quest

I was doing the account wide quest called “Break Their Bows” when I switched to another character to finish it off but when I completed the quest on that character the quest items where still in my other characters inventory when I switched back. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me because the items are clogging up my inventory. Thank you.

You are stuck with them until the next time that quest shows up. Just make sure that you use the character with the stash of quest items for the new run of the "break their bows" and then hand in the quest. Then the old lot will vanish along with the new lot.
