Thanks, Travis, for the help so far, but I'm still trying for the 'perfect' game experience --- and I know it's possible. I started with a download on STEAM but that didn't work out because I couldn't make in-game purchases (checked the controller, cleared the cache, deleted and reinstalled the game.) So, I tried Blue Stacks, but that installed the game but never started it. Lastly, I've downloaded the game from Microsoft. Now, I finally have a fully functional game (e.g., in-game purchases) but there's no tool bar and no item in the Settings menu to show one --- either on the bottom or side.

The MS version of the game doesn't offer the PC HUD like Steam does. Out of curiosity, can you make purchases on other Steam games?
If you're dead set on playing with the PC HUD, your purchases will follow you across platforms. So, for example, you could make a purchase on your phone or the MS version of the game, then play it on Steam - as long as you save your game before jumping between platforms.

I wanted to edit or send you a reply, but the post was locked. I discovered, as you suggested, that I could buy gems thru MS and then enter the account thru Steam where the UI existed. So, all now is well. BTW: why does the MS version not offer a UI ? --- is it because it's designed as a mobile game there. Whatever --- a clumsy work-around, but a work-around nonetheless. They rolled out the HUD to the Widows version before the Steam version existed. The player base rebelled and they removed it.
BlueStacks is a pain for actually playing the game because the targeting is finicky and I still have yet to figure how to use the second attack. Though BlueStacks is good for making purchases through the Android Play Store and doing other basic tasks.Comment
