New Season Update – Exciting Changes, Rewards, and Quality Improvements!

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of a new season, bringing with it a host of exciting updates, fresh rewards, and several key improvements to enhance your gameplay experience. Whether you’re diving into Trials or tackling high-level events, this season is packed with features designed to elevate your performance on the battlefield. While Travis posted release notes in a previous announcement, I wanted to further break down what’s new, and why these changes are important for both new and veteran players. This was a HUGE release.

New Season Highlights:

1. Cape of Mystic Deflection: This powerful Mage only cape introduces a new way to mitigate damage. By pacing your spell usage, you’ll harness AOE deflect abilities, giving you both defense and crowd control. Use this cape strategically to turn the tide of battle and hold off overwhelming enemy waves.
2. Reflectrix Spiritstone: The Reflectrix amplifies your deflect damage, making your defensive strategy even more deadly. Turn your defense into a formidable offense by reflecting back the pain to your enemies.
3. Transcendent Hammer: Found on the Season reward path, this hammer is a game-changer. Use it to enhance the quality of any item in your inventory, making it an indispensable tool for improving your build and pushing your character's power to new heights.
4. Level 77 Box: Replacing the Mythical Box on the reward path, the Level 77 Box guarantees a Level 77 item drop. This provides a direct boost to your gear, giving you a stronger foundation as you progress through tougher content.

Additional Updates & Changes:

In addition to the exciting new items and rewards, we’ve made several important balance changes and introduced quality-of-life improvements to streamline your gameplay:

• Hero Level Requirement for Events: Moving forward, we’ve set the level requirement for accessing events to Level 70. Events are designed as end-game content, and we’ve curated the campaign and Trials’ difficulty to scale accordingly for new players. We found that allowing access too early led to confusion and negative player retention. This change ensures a smoother experience and better progression through the game.
• Arcane Damage Deflection: Previously, deflected damage benefited from arcane damage bonuses. After careful review, we’ve adjusted this mechanic—deflected damage will no longer scale with arcane damage. This brings more balance to the defensive playstyle and aligns deflect mechanics with other forms of mitigation.
• SCR Set Bonus Adjustment: The 2-piece bonus for the SCR set has been adjusted. It's Lightning Struck ability previously increased nature damage enemy's take by 100%, but now, it will increase all damage taken by 100%. This makes the bonus more impactful in a broader range of scenarios and adds versatility to your builds.
• Belt of Whispered Secrets: To eliminate confusion and interference between similar effects, the Belt of Whispered Secrets has been updated to apply the exact same debuff as other items, preventing them from interfering with each other. This makes gear synergy smoother and more predictable.
• Season Pass Event Milestone Rewards: For those who purchase the Season Pass, we’ve added event milestone rewards. This provides extra value for pass holders and further incentivizes your journey through the season’s challenges.
• Gemstone Inventory: Managing your resources has never been easier. The new Gemstone Inventory feature, which automatically stores all your gemstones and Spiritstones, ensures you can stack them to infinity without clutter. This feature is accessible across all your heroes, freeing up valuable space in your inventory.

Bug Fixes and UX Improvements

Lastly, we’ve squashed a number of bugs and made several small improvements to the user experience. These fixes and optimizations aim to make your gameplay smoother and more enjoyable. We’re constantly refining Eternium based on your feedback and our ongoing commitment to quality.
