A very old bug on that map that can occur when speed running it. The portal didn't appear because you were still in combat although no enemies were actually chasing you. It's caused by an off-screen enemy somehow counting as in combat at the intersection where the first two Spirits (for the daily quest) can be found. My way of avoiding the problem on BH is to go into stealth at that intersection and pause briefly to confirm I'm out of combat. On a Mage I cast Shatter and again pause. If still in combat I'll go kill the enemies around the two spirits and that has so far always worked for me.-
I figured it was something like that.
I looked around and tried Victory port and Town port a few times.
Got the ( not during combat ) type lead once.
Didn't and don't really speed run, yet.
Although I was just running stars to get to Legendary Misty.
I am familiar with the way you explained the scenario and will watch that better if speeding.
This was an ANB with 2x gp. booster; so I just took the hit.
