Battle enviroment enhancements (Not for Trial)

To spice things up, perhaps there can be additional attributes for the randomly generated maps. The ideal place will be end game dungeons.

World of Fire -> constant 5% per second HP drain

World of Sorrow -> LoH completely disabled

World of Stone -> No critical hit at all

World of Sloth -> All MS bonus removed / disregarded

World of Water -> Attack Speed Halved

World of Air -> 50% of Attacks Auto Miss

World of Mirror -> 10% Dmg reflection

World of Dream -> Random teleport every 10 second

World of Ice -> Fire based attacks do 50% dmg, Ice based attacks do 25% dmg

World of Light -> Arcane based attacks do 50% dmg, Physical based attacks do 25% dmg

World of Darkness -> Pitch Black

World of Meek -> All damage > X heals enemy instead

World of Strong -> All attack damage < X heals enemy instead

I'm sure we all can come up with more...

Now if there is some elemental based attributes in the game, some of those handicaps can be overcome via elemental overload...

Let's not just shrink from a challenge. The goal is to shake things up and get people out of their comfort zone. Right now there is that cookie cutter build since everything is about DPS. But by changing one or two gaming parameter, you introduce completely different play experience, forcing entirely new builds to tackle the challenge presented.

For example let's say the next event takes place in the "World of the Meek". It will have various event milestones etc. But all the maps will have that World of the Meek attribute, meaning you have to cap your damage output. Because when you hit hard, you heal your opponent instead. So how do you approach this problem? Remove all critical chance items so that you are not doing any critical damage. This is just an example.

          I'd quit.

The proposed Worlds are random and punitive. No thanks.

And how do you think about inventory and stash? as it is now they are full, and implement your thingy and it will be required to save all different gear. If the Devs would make something like this they looking for a riot i say.

The idea of deliberately playing worse versions of the character that we've been building up is ridiculous. Ohh... let's cater to the noobs with garbage gear.

I've probably trashed a full set of Blue Assault from farming SoA, but that's what you want me to wear?

And I've got 1000 hard-earned CLs, that you want me not to use?

Along with the Legendaries that I earned?

The entire concept is terrible. If the devs do this, they deserve to see the players leave en masse.

It's really hard to articulate just how much I hate this entire concept.

Okay. I will accept your options as: optionals.

Think like the skulls in Halo. Especially if you could only do it after a complete on normal trial....

Go back and play it (ideally with an XP boost dependent on choices?) Toggling on and off those effects you want.
Play. Brag when you beat 115 with strong and meek both active at same time....

This shows a lack of imagination. Sarcasm aside, let me illustrate a possible solution to the problem the darkness world presents.

Focus on procs and other auto targeting skills. Btw the mini map will still act as a radar so you have some general idea where the mobs are. But what you are blinded to are what they are. There maybe a quick glimpse of the enemy when special abilities are used.

All of these are are meant to present new challenges. Being optional and endgame makes them good bragging right fights.

What all you have is a hammer, you can’t imagine anything outside of a nail. I’m trying to give you more tools so the world becomes more colorful. (Simple DPS no longer being the only qualifying factor).

This is meant to provide additional challenges and bragging rights. So the comparison to skulls in halo is apt. Although if someone can clear a high trial with both meek and strong qualifiers, I would tip my head to them for sure. One other small change. There is no max timer with these challenge world/trial. This will be a pure pass/fail with a completion time attached for bragging rights.

Thanks for an actual thoughtful response.

Yes, to complete all the challenges you will need to collect many sets of gear. But that is if you want to complete ALL. Also the ultimate aim of games like this is gear hoarding. I’m just giving you more reasons to hoard a greater variety of gear.

I think the solutuon is a vastly expanded stash. Besides you don’t unleash all the worlds at once. So when you release one, you get another page of stash opened up. UI specialists will come up with solutions I’m sure.

One other possibility is a new class of socketable, craftable gems. Basically their function is to turn off one of the attributes on your gear while enhancing another. Sort like socketable reforging.

It shows an attempt at humor. I'm in agreement with the critics so far of your idea, so I was opting to say something "funny" instead of nothing at all.

I have enough gripes with the targeting in his game as it is. Your suggestion would make it even more of a pain.

Too much of the game's fundamental features would have to be changed to accommodate what essentially amounts to a Trial re-skin. If your suggestion were more compatible with the existing foundation, and if there were tangible incentives/rewards besides bragging rights, then yeah, maybe it could be worth the trouble. But that's still a big maybe.
