What if they kept the jewelry crafting system mostly the same but allowed you to enter parameters such as minimum acceptable attribute values and quantity of crafted pieces? The system could give you a preview of the cost to obtain a number of pieces of jewelry with random attributes of your desired values or better, and you can hit accept to craft those items for the cost shown in the preview. The pieces with values below your selected minimum values would then be automatically sold to the vendor without you ever having to see them in your inventory. It probably wouldn't be that hard to implement. They already have a system that knows what your item drops are going to be.
