New companions or ways to improve companions

Can we get more companion options? With some of the new abilities from the sets, there seems to be new options in the game engine that would be cool to have transfer over via companions. Like fire lily.

Also, can we gets ways to place some of the new trinkets or other items on companions to make them a little more useful in actual combat and not just a minor skill bump? All equipment might be a bit much, but trinket boosts that help the companion and maybe give a percentage of the boost to the main would be cool.

I was thinking about this. With the introduction of damage types (frost, Fire, nature, arcane) it would make sense that the companions utilize those things as well.
