Greetings, Adrian (Developer) & team.
The new "Hometown" concept is a good idea that enables further immersive experience in gameplay. As usual, your graphic artists have done a commendable job on it. To further improve the experience, here's a set of humble suggestions for you to consider, please...
First, ideally, reaching anywhere in the Hometown should be with one-click. Currently, it takes 2 clicks to reach Liana or Ingrid. Perhaps, if the zoom-out level could be slightly increased to view the entire Hometown, that could help. Also, the size of the town centre can be reduced (halved) by bring the buildings closer to the portal.
Next, presented hereunder is a rough illustration of the following suggestions:
Here, the "creating/ fighting" features are presented on the right side and the "trading/ relaxing" features are presented on the left. All buildings are clickable. Giving a name board/ plate on each building could be a nice artistic improvement.
Importantly, the most used features of "Salvaging" and "Stash" are presented right above the hero as s/he returns to the Hometown via the portal after battle, to enable easier access to those functionalities.
Hero's Home: Another useful/ interesting feature could be the "Hero's Home" (avoiding the anthropomorphism, "Your Home"), wherein the Stash & Dressing Room could be integrated (thereby reducing clutter on the screen). Currently, the hero seems to be homeless, changing clothes along the roadside. On clicking the building, the following features are displayed as a drop-down box:
Alarion could be placed next to it near the Town Gate path.
The Inn: On clicking this building, the following features are displayed as a drop-down box:
Shop: On clicking this building, the "Consumables" interface could be presented. Here, the Sell & Buyback features could be removed, as they are redundant because of Mitzu.
Ruby could be placed at the entrance to this building. On clicking her, the "Talk" feature could be presented.
Smithy: On clicking this building, the following features are displayed as a drop-down box:
Jewelry: On clicking this building, the "Jewelry" interface could be presented.
Morgan could be placed at the entrance to this building. On clicking him, the "Talk" feature could be presented.
Armory: On clicking this building, the following features are displayed as a drop-down box:
Gornathan could be placed at the entrance to this building. On clicking him, the "Talk" feature could be presented.
"Arena" could be shifted to the bottom-right side (as most people are right-handed), and the less used "Friends" feature could be placed on the bottom-left side of the portal.
Finally, Mitzu & Liana could be placed on either side of the portal.
This way, the 5 NPCs presenting the Daily Quests are evenly distributed around the Hometown.
Thanks & best regards.
