I've played the game for almost a month now, and here's my impressions and feedback for the MF team.
TLDR version: Excellent graphics, super easy controls, fun and fast paced gameplay, but hampered by repetitive end game farming and daily quests, and boss one-shot mechanics.
Liked:
Excellent graphics for a mobile app. Graphics are similar to vanilla WoW.
Super easy controls; tap to move or attack, drawing symbols for spells/abilities.
Fun and fast paced gameplay.
It’s a free game that you don‘t actually have to spend money on.
Excellent forum community and an active forum admin that responds to questions
Can play online or off, can also play on PC.
Frequent updates, improvements, and new content, including the ability to download and play the Beta of new versions and provided feedback.
Didn't like:
Offering in game currency bribe for 5 star rating.
Repetitive promotional videos. I routinely get 20-30 of the exact same rolly-ball/hexblock/word cookie videos in a row. In. A. Row.
Promotional videos destroy mobile data caps.
Repetitive maps for grinding. TBD for gemstones and XP, Trials for set pieces. Over and over, ad nauseum. This needs balancing. Most of the 30 story maps should drop the same amount of gemstones per mob. That TBD/CoW/TT drop so many more gemstones per mob than the others just forces end game grinders to run the same 1 or 2 maps over and over again -- boring.
Repetitive daily missions. The are more mob types than toads, sisters, and skeleton archers; use them. Doing the daily quests on 5 toons is the same thing every day; merlock village x2, siege of ander-something x2. It's stale.
Crafting system at level 70 sucks for everything except weapons. Before level 70 it just sucks period. It's a waste of time to craft anything because by the time it's done you've out-leveled it or found something better.
One-shot boss mechanics that make playing BH a game of run away, run away, run away. This is not compelling game play. In fact it's quite unfun since one cannot shoot and run at the same time and trying to draw a symbol to interrupt a boss mechanic is inconsistent, at best. I'm sure it's easier on the PC version where you can click on abilities but on a mobile device it's frustrating to die to a one-shot mechanic because the symbol wasn't drawn precisely or quickly enough.
Getting BH set drops with block on them. How is that even a thing?
Finally, a word about PvP.
I recommend separating PvP abilities from PvE. The WoW community endured more that a decade of endless cycles of nerfs/buffs to abilities to appease whoever was the loudest community at the moment. Stuns suck in PvP? Nerf them and listen to the PvE crowd cry that clearing raid mobs is now a wipe fest. Paladin healers suck in PvE? Buff them and then hear the wails of the PvP community about paladins ruling rated matches. After more than a decade Blizzard finally conceded and had skills act differently for PvE and PvP and it became much easer to balance the game.
