Ok since 1.2.59 I've played 4 Characters through to level 70 on a new account. Things have not changed since forever probably certainly not since I started playing 4 months ago 
and I currently have a total of 13 Characters at level 70.
Early levels Forging is great but when you reach mid levels 30 to 60 Forging becomes a total ball-ache and a completely wasted effort. By the time the forged item is cooked your character has leveled to the point where the new forged item is completely greyed out.
This really needs reworking.
I Totally agree with the "one day" duration for level 70, although I would prefer this to be 23 hours so that a person can stick to a routine.
but pre level 69, forging should not be more than an hour or two at most.
