Is the magister's command set necessary ?

So I recently got a full elemental lord regalia set and I'm wondering is it really necessary to use the grand magister's command set ? I currently use the forbidden knowledge set and like using it a great deal more . Specifically the protective void ability is very useful if I have to stand in one spot in order to fire my frost beam .

nothing's really *necessary*. however, the ELR set bonuses tie closely together with the GMC bonuses. ELR 6 second reduction on frost and fire cooldowns and the elemental fury damage and defense boost from fire & frost spells, and GMCs bonus damage to fire / frost spell combinations are really quite powerful, especially with northern wind from frost bolt.

GMC fits perfectly with Regalia set,
i recently watch this video how effective GMC used to do trial using it's special ability "Shatter" & "Thermal Shock"
