Lily = Fire lily (unique trinket)

It's short for Fire Lily, a trinket. It is for builds that trade crit skills for pure power/haste.

Area of Effect is the area where the ability is applied, for things like Mage's Blizzard, Immolate and Bounty Hunter's Trap. You'll see the circle showing the area, and only mobs within the circle take damage

eg. Blizzard, note that at level 10, this AoE gets bigger

You'll see similar circles around Elite mobs, those are their auras, and they'll boost any other mobs within those circles...

Damage over Time, or bleed, refers to damage that you/mobs take after every second. Think of it like a fire, poison or bleeding wound, you'll continue taking damage after the initial attack.

This is most commonly used by Warriors in combination with Shockwave (level 10), which deals 10x the current DoT on the target instantly, thus boosting their damage.

eg. Warrior's Rending Slash apply bleed for 15 seconds

AS a newbie, I would have liked a nice explanation of AOE vs. DOT
