Celestial transforms on gems in sockets...

Just before I make a poor choice I want to check if gems in sockets are bonded to the item when Celestial transform is applied, or can they still be changed at will (with the requisite unsocket cost)?

Gemstones can be swapped out on Celestial items.

Always pay to add a socket to an item before applying the CT. The cost to add a socket goes up after you make the item a Celestial. This is especially true during ANBs. Socketing an ephemeral L77 Legendary item costs 77 gems while adding the socket after you use the CT costs 385 gems. The normal cost for socketing a non-ephemeral L77 is 308 gems, if memory serves for all those numbers.
