    Stormblade vs fps

As many on the forums know, stormblade dps is heavily dependent on device frames per second. To combat this, i think a simple counteract would be to limit the number of procs per 10 seconds or something. I think many mechanisms from other classes do this. The number of stormblade procs from mage is getting out of hand.
Practically the whole top 10 of the mage leaderboards has abnormally high stormblade dps, which is directly correlated with device frame rate. From what I can tell, 9/10 mages in top10 had 120 Fps, some even 240 fps.

The precedence is already there with warrior shield proc and other procs that have a cannot more than once every x seconds mechanisms already built into the game.

It’s gotten so predictable that one can predict the system a player is running on at 4-4.5m sheet damage which is the going rate for top10 seasonal mages:

60 Hz system: 300-400m stormblade dps
75 Hz system: 500m stormblade dps
120-144 Hz system: 700-850m stormblade dps
200-240 Hz system: 1b-1.3b stormblade dps
300 Hz system?: 1.5b stormblade dps. Only see this once and during anb gold 4 for top mage

Damn, is it really that bad? I was going through my trial stats and the top 10, and I thought the differences stem just from play-style. E.g. them herding 5-10 groups of mobs all the time, which explains the high singularity and ripple damage, but cannot account for the crazy stormblade difference...

btw I'm playing on 30fps most of the time (14 for Garm), so as I get it that's a huge handicap :/ I do hope this gets fixed in the next big release.

i noticed this too, although without directly relating them to specific fps tiers and i was looking at total damage not dps. I play at 60 fps, and i tend to get around 50b damage from stormblade. as you got up into the top 20 in the ANB leaderboard, people were getting consistently over 200, and even 250b damage from stormblade alone.

Looking at the current season leaderboards for mage, the average damage to clear trials 115-120 is:
Average Min Max Diff. Avg Diff Min Running Diff - Min
          115 Avg 384.7 370.0 399.0
          116 Avg 417.4 380.0 474.0 32.7 10 10.0
          117 Avg 472.9 426.0 536.0 55.5 46.0 56.0
          118 Avg 594.3 516.0 717.0 121.4 90.0 146.0
          119 Avg 571.0 520.0 621.0 -23.3 4.0 150.0
          120 Avg 659.1 608.0 738.0 88.1 88.0 238.0
          Total Difference 274.4 238.0
so if you consider stormblade proc is completely passive, and given a 250 - 50 = 200b difference in essentially free damage, you're looking at almost 5 trials advantage from stormblade proc alone, let alone any improvements in alacrity or faster firing of arcane bolts, etc.

to be clear - this is not a sour grapes post. clearing TL 115 with 55 minutes to go in gold was a record for me, so i'm pretty happy with that. but, it is interesting to see how much of a difference it really makes.

Edit: also, this of course underplays the difference in champion levels and attributes which certainly contribute.

From what i gathered they will adress this issue in the next big release. Along with adding that trinket? or whatever it will be called that will pretty much nullify any difference between playstyles. yay to that. Hopefully after that update everyone will be more equal to each other and we will be able to trash only PC players no matter what hardware they run
