    An idea for crafting

    The developers should consider adding a transmute for armor and weapons that consumes a significant number of items of the same type and quality and produces a similar item, but with at least the same level as the highest of the item levels. I think a dozen (or two) items would be a reasonable number.

    For example, suppose a player has spent a day’s effort crafting legendary Integralas Mantles and the RNG gods were unhappy that day, so the player ends up with 4 level 72, six level 73 and 2 level 74. The transmute would consume these dozen mantles and in addition, the mats for another and maybe even more gold, and the result of the transmute would be a legendary Integralas Mantle with at least level 74. The attributes would be a random selection of the attributes in the dozen mantles supplied (though of course they‘ll likely be the same four).

    No guarantees about attributes being better, but the should be in the range for the level. No guarantees about special attributes (like the Integralas proc).

    Funny thing is? That is kinda like how the old crafting system worked. You combined three items, did not have to be the same type, and 24 hours later you blindly got the results. I can not recall any players that found that process satisfying.

    If you are consuming all those materials, then why would you want the results to end up being completely random? That you can choose the attributes is the strength of the current crafting system and reduces the variable down to just two, the amount of the attributes along with the items level. Your suggestion would go back to having three variables, making the attributes variable again.

    Just trying to understand what you are hoping to gain from the suggestion.

      I didn’t mean to imply that the resulting item would be random. If you used 12 legendary Integralas Mantles, you’d get a legendary Integralas Mantle. If all had exp, haste, critical rate and critical damage, then the result would have those attributes. If the 12 mantles didn’t have the same four, then it would pick four from the set attributes that are on the various mantles. The goal of this would be to give some measure of confidence that one can make progress. It isn’t meant to replace the current crafting system, just add one more transmute.
