    Trials Suggestion

The ability to complete a trial at high level without dying should grant some sort of benefit other than a trial stat that says 0 deaths.

The following is a suggestion only and is not intended to cause distress to players opposing the idea:

What would everyone think about the implementation of a time penalty for each death accumulated within a trial (much like greater rifts in Diablo3)

    Example:
    0 deaths = 0 time loss
    1 death = 5 seconds lost
    2 deaths = 10 seconds lost
    3 deaths = 15 seconds lost
    4 deaths = 20 seconds lost, etc.
upto a cap of 30 seconds lost.

Trial's are only 10 minutes long which is 2/3's of the D3 GR of 15 minutes so maybe it could be capped at 20 seconds per death.

I feel that this, if implemented would certainly balance some class sets.

I like this idea. But I play Arcanist, I think I'm biased

A time penalty for deaths would definitely make trials more skill-focused and rewarding for players who survive the whole run. It could also add tension and make high-level clears more meaningful. The key would be tuning the penalty so it feels fair and doesn’t overly punish solo players or classes with weaker defenses.
