Newbie Questions for ANB

I started years ago and just came back. I played BH and it took me months to hit 70. Now I am doing ANB and watched videos about how to do it. I am 70 on a mage in just under an hour and enjoying the mage a lot. Even though she is less strong than my BH still, I would like to make her my main char after ANB.

Is it possible to keep her somehow and the BH after the event ends?

I believe you can, after the event finishes you click on end event and then the character becomes part of your main account. Relative newbie here so I could be wrong as you are allowed five characters in total.
