I fail to see the interest of Gone rogue. Enlighten me!

    Hello,

New player here. I have a champion 180 mage and played a warrior in the recent event. I very much enjoy the game. I am no pro but I played many hours.

The Gone rogue event has started and I must be missing something : you play, you don’t keep anything and you may get some prizes which, from my newbie point of view, kinda suck. Cosmetic points, a little glory and a starforged hammer. I fail to see why I should invest hours in this event for those prizes…

    Am I missing something?

I like having something to do between ANB's besides War supplies. I don't need to spend any gems (unless I want to) and I can pick up a Starforged Hammer.
Overall I think this event has a lot of potential but still needs a lot of work.

Currently Starforged Hammers is a key item for your "end game gear" - you can only craft up to level 77, and need 3 to boost to max item level of 80. The other key item being Celestial Transform, which you can only get from ANB event.

Gone Rogue offers a different playstyle to the standard Eternium game, some like it, some don't - I personally don't, so I miss out on the extra Hammer per GR, oh well... I'll get them slowly. Cosmetic points is nice, these used to be purchase only, got added to Seasons milestones a while ago, which was nice. But again, some players don't care about those, I do, but not worth the trouble of playing GR.

Just my view on it and of course, things will likely change in the future as well...

Of most interest is the fact that it is new, eternium is changing. Perhaps you should give it some time.

I guess now I know why I've never played a rogue game. Permadeath if I die even once, which is easy since apples are too rare and health potions are non-existent. Amazingly, it's also permadeath if I kill the final boss. That's quite a reward! Also, nothing I collect (equipment, gold, experience) goes back to my main characters.

However at this point I like cosmetic gems enough to force myself to play until they are all collected. I guess at some point I'll have enough and then they will just uselessly collect like glory.

Played a bit more since the roll-out and actually made it through Stage 1. But I'm still disappointed in any noticeable improvements since the general original roll-out. At best, GR, to me, is a below-average fill-in game to pass (waste?) your time between ANBs.

OK, Eternium entices you to spend real money for the Ticket that includes bonus elements to use in GR, which is a fair ask from a business, but even with that, there are simply NO tangible end-game rewards and worse, absolutely NO sense of personal satisfaction or accomplishment at the game's conclusion--just death and frustration. So, why play?

For now, I'm not going to spend ANY gems or money on GR until I see a return on my investment. Still needs LOTS more work!
